Triptych (2014) | British Youth Music Theatre
YMT Summer Season - Triptych 2014

Current shows

The first of YMT's new Triptych Programme, commissioning new work from young female composers, Triptych (2014) gives young performers from YMT auditions the chance to work with some of the most exciting and innovative emerging composers in the UK and from abroad.

What happens when three young female composers selected from an international competition are invited to write short, original pieces of music theatre, inspired by the work of Belfast's Poet Laureate, Sinéad Morrissey?  How will each composer respond to the questions of genetics, family, past and present raised by the poetry? What new stories will emerge as the writers grapple with the task of creating strong female roles and coherent narratives?
